Michael Wood is the Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Princeton University, author of Stendhal (1971), America in the Movies (1975), Gabriel García Márquez: One Hundred Years of Solitude (1990), The Magician's Doubts: Nabokov and the Risks of Fiction (1995), Children of Silence: Studies in Contemporary Fiction (1998), Franz Kafka (2003) and, most recently, The Road to Delphi: The Life and Afterlife of Oracles (2003).
