Nancy Springer

Nancy Springer is the author of more than ten novels for young readers, many of which have garnered honors or awards. Toughing It was named a 1995 American Library Association Best Book and was the recipient of the 1995 Edgar Award for the Best Young Adult Mystery, while her most recent book, Looking for Jamie Bridger, was awarded the 1996 Edgar in the same category. Secret Star is her first book with Philomel.

Ms. Springer, who has long considered herself an advocate of teenagers, teaches a course in creative writing at York College of Pennsylvania. She lives in Dallastown, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Joel. They are the parents of two grown children.
